There are two types of Rift: Standard Nephalem Rifts, which are locked to your Torment level, so the harder your Torment level is, the harder they are. Greater Rifts, which you pick a difficulty level for, based on the highest level GR you’ve finished in the past.
Can you quit a greater rift?
You can’t. Either you have to kill enough to kill the rift guardian then close the rift or you just have to restart a new game. There is no way to close a unfinished rift. Note it doesn’t matter if you kill the rift guardian after your timer has run out you just have to kill the rift guardian.
What is considered high greater rift?
The Greater Rift cap is staying at 150 8, but also because Blizzard says they won’t be raising the Greater Rift cap past level 150.
Does torment difficulty affect greater rifts?
Even assuming that you want to exclusively run greater rifts, the new torment levels will help you continue to do so. Greater rifts require GR keys that drop from normal Nephalem rift bosses. At higher torment levels, these bosses will drop multiple keys.
How rare is primal ancient?
The chance for primals is roughly 0.25% (on average, one in 400 legendaries is a primal). Remember that ancients give 3 forgotten souls and are about 10% drop.
What happens if you fail to complete a greater rift?
E.g. beating a level 5 rift with 5 minutes to spare would cause a level 10 Greater Rift Keystone (GRK) to drop. Since the speed will vary quite a bit depending on the monster spawn, players can get unlucky and fail to complete a Rift due to poor enemy density.
What happens when you kill the rift Guardian?
No regular or champion mobs drop loot in Greater Rifts. The Rift Guardian will drop loot regardless if the timer has run out or not. If the Rift Guardian is killed before the timer runs out he will drop a Greater Rift Keystone. The Keystone’s level is determined by how quickly the Greater Rift was cleared.
How many levels are there in Greater Rifts?
Greater Rifts scale up quickly though, and will become challenging for any player ability. Level 8 is equivalent to about Torment 1, Level 15 is equivalent to about [Torment 3, and Level 25 is approximately the same as Torment 6.
What’s the difficulty of a greater rift in Diablo 3?
If they have no more GRKs they must restart at a level one GR and work their way back up. Greater Rifts do not use usual Diablo 3 difficulty system. GRs are numbered and are easiest at #1, with a steady progression in difficulty above that.
