There are six Places of Power in Velen (also known as No Man’s Land) but two of them are inaccessable until parts of the Main Story.
How many places of power are in Velen and Novigrad?
Each one of them gives you +1 Skill Point when you discover them and using them grants you increased Sign Intensity for 30 minutes (this buff can be repeatedly activated). There are six Places of Power in Velen (No Man’s Land) and two more in the Novigrad area. Below I have maps and directions to each one of them.
How do you find the place of power?
To use a Place of Power, approach the glowing stone and press the prompted button. Pressing it briefly will get you your Sign buff, but you’ll have to hold it down for a couple seconds to collect your Ability Point on your first visit. How do I get Bald Mountain Power?
Take the Bald Mountain key from Fugas before going to the Crones or you cannot go though the gate and fight Imlerith. Now back with Geralt it’s time to climb the mountain, along the way you will encounter a Quen Place of Power, which is good as Quen is useful during the battle.

Do places of power Respawn?
You can use them as often as you want, if this was your question. But of course, you wont get a new skill point, just the buff. You can also unlock a perk, which will make a buff permanent (until you change it at another PoP).

Ciri doesn’t ever express a desire to be Empress. But many times she talks about how much she’d love to travel the world. As a Witcher she can do this, but as an Empress she is forced into a complicated political situation that she never wanted to be in the first place.

How do you unlock power in Witcher 3?
