1 Answer. The answer is yes. Since the initial release though, some problems appeared, and were solved with fixes. As this post on EA Answers states, there are some patches that need to be applied in order to play the game (all needed info is on that link).

Just activate directplay in Windows 10, (Normally it should be activated automaticly when you start Bf1942 the first time), then set admin and compatibility mode XPSp3 on Blackscreen.exe and Bf1942.exe. Sometimes Compatibility Mode WIndows 7 is working too. Btw.
