Planeswalkers can’t be your commander in EDH. It’s one of the rules that annoys some fans and keeps the whole format in check according to others. Thankfully, it’s also one of those rules that has just a whole bunch of exceptions.

Is it possible to make 140 new Planeswalkers?
I took apart my planeswalker deck. While introducing 140 new commanders to the format would create a lot of new and awesome decks, it would warp the format. 140 new decks could easily destable metas and card prices.
Is it bad to have planeswalkers as commanders?
In short, bring on walkers as commanders! As much as I’d love to legally play Elspeth, Sun’s Champion as my commander, I think allowing all planeswalkers as commanders would be a bad idea. I’m with JLK of the Command Zone here; ‘Walker commanders slow the game down.
