Serana is an ancient pure-blood vampire and the daughter of Lord Harkon and Valerica. She is known as one of the “Daughters of Coldharbour,” and because of this she is central to the main questline in Dawnguard. After being encountered, she can be recruited as a follower, unlocking a multitude of interactions.
Why is there no option for serana to follow me?
You need to either talk to her and tell her to follow, or continue with the quest and when it finishes, then you can get her back again.

If you aren’t doing that mission, she will either be at the vampire castle or at Fort Dawnguard, depending on which faction you chose to help; sometimes she will mistakenly say the glade line after you complete that mission, but she will still return to the base.
Is serana a good follower?
As an essential character, she cannot die, which makes her an excellent choice as a companion. Her aggressive behavior can make sneaking difficult, but since she can’t die, Serana makes a great decoy. High stats in sneak, one-handed, and light armor mean she is effective even when out of Magicka.

Serana is a little buggy as a follower. This can be used to your advantage, however, if you would like more than one NPC follower. There are points during the Dawnguard quest line where she stops following you, and others where she starts following again.
Where do you find Serana in Skyrim bloodline?
Follow the Dawnguard Quest line. She will eventually follow you, as she is required to progress through it. Once Dawnguard Quest line is completed she becomes a full follower and can be found at either Castle Volkihar or Fort Dawnguard (depending on the faction you choose). Bloodline is really really early.
