planeswalker abilities act just like any other activated ability. they use the stack and can be responded to, so yes you can doom blade the creature in response to venser’s ability.
Is ETB an ability?
“Enters the battlefield” refers to putting a permanent onto the battlefield, or to an ability which is triggered when a permanent is put onto the battlefield. It is commonly abbreviated ETB.
Is a triggered ability a spell?
Any text on an instant or sorcery spell is a spell ability unless it’s an activated ability, a triggered ability, or a static ability that fits the criteria described in rule 112.6. Activated abilities have a cost and an effect.
Is Cascade A triggered ability?
Since cascade is a triggered ability, anything that interacts with a triggered ability (such as Stifle) will interact with cascade. All players can see the cards you exile as the cascade ability resolves. If you cast a card this way, you cast it as part of the resolution of the cascade ability.
Can you respond to a sacrifice MTG?
When a player plays a spell or ability they pay all costs associated with casting or playing that ability. ‘ The act of sacrificing is not special, however if you are sacrificing a permanent to pay a cost that cannot be responded to.
Can you destroy a creature in response to it being sacrificed?
You can’t destroy the creature or artifact that was sacrificed “as an additional cost” to cast the spell, and you can’t destroy or remove counters from a permanent that sacrificed itself to activate its ability.
Can I sacrifice a creature in response to it being sacrificed?
No, you can’t lock in that creature for sacrifice. If you do respond to Eldrazi Monument and sacrifice a creature, it just means that that particular creature won’t exist when you are told by Eldrazi Monument to “sacrifice a creature”. As chaikov says, the difference comes up with targets.
Can you sacrifice a creature in response to a spell?
Yes. Unless otherwise specified, activated abilities can be played at any time you could play an instant (like, for example, in response to a spell that would destroy all creatures). You can sacrifice creatures before they’re destroyed, which it sounds like you have time to do in that case.
