As long as a plane card is face up in the command zone, its abilities affect the game. They’re never put onto the battlefield, and they’re not permanents, so nothing can destroy or otherwise affect them.
Does rolling the planar die use the stack?
Yes. This is covered in the following section of the Comprehensive Rules: 901.8. Any time the active player has priority and the stack is empty, but only during a main phase of his or her turn, that player may roll the planar die.
Can you respond to Planechase?
You can’t respond to the rolling of the planar die, but if it lands on the planeswalker symbol, an ability is triggered which says “whenever you roll {PW}, planeswalk”. This triggered ability can be responded to.
What does roll the planar die mean?
Any time a player could cast a sorcery, they may roll the planar die. This die has four blank sides which have no effect. One side has the planeswalker symbol ( ) on it. When the planeswalker symbol is rolled, the planar controller puts the active plane or phenomenon card at the bottom of its owner’s planar deck.

What does fractured Powerstone do?
Fractured Powerstone is a card that allows to roll the planar die. It is also the first black-bordered card which refers to rolling a die. An ability of a plane card that triggers “Whenever you roll {CHAOS}” on the planar die in the Planechase casual variant.

Are planechase cards legal?
New cards that are not printed in any Modern block expansion or Modern core set are only legal in Eternal formats. The Eternal formats are Vintage and Legacy. It’s just a non rotating, not a “true eternal.” Otherwise you would have Mishra Factory, Swords to Plowshares, and just about every other old card reprinted.
How much life does a Planeswalker have?
