The player who goes first skips his or her first draw step, but the player who goes second does not. Even more, it’s important to understand how whether you’re on the play or on the draw can change the dynamics of the rest of the game.
What should I start drawing first?
The first step in drawing an armature is to draw an oval for the head. I start with the head because it establishes the proportion for the rest of the body. Pay particular attention to the angle at which the head tips to the left or right. When you draw your oval, you don’t need to go around and around.
Should you learn to paint or draw first?
All this is not to say that one cannot paint without learning to draw; but the best approach to develop your skills as an artist is to learn to draw first and then build on your skills by learning how to paint.
