Sawmills are useful to have on hand in Terraria for some advanced wood-crafting projects. Fortunately, getting the ingredients together isn’t too difficult, especially by the time you need anything the sawmill produces, but making one from scratch is a little bit of a laborious process.
Why can’t I craft a sawmill?
A sawmill requires 2 Iron/Lead bars, and an ‘Iron’ Chain (which can be crafted from a Single Iron/’Lead’ Bar at an anvil). The sawmill will be crafted at a Workbench. Make sure you also have wood. In total, it’ll take 3 Iron/Lead Bars (and wood) if you’re supplied with an anvil, otherwise 8 to craft the anvil.
Can you craft a sawmill?
Head to the workbench, go to the crafting menu, where you can craft your anvil with five lead or iron bars. Once the anvil is created, place it next to you and craft 10 chains with your iron or lead bar. Combine your 10 wood, chain, and two lead or iron bars to craft a sawmill.
