One thing to note, for all operations (crossbreeding, breeding up to 10/10/10, and production) having multiple chickens speeds it up. You can easily see it if you are doing a cross breed, if you put 1 of each chicken in the breeder it will take forever, if you put 16 of each into the breeder it will work much faster.
