Anyone you give your external IP address to will be able to play on your Minecraft server. Make sure that you trust whomever you invite to play….Have players joining your server follow the steps below:
- In Minecraft, click Multiplayer.
- Click Add Server.
- Enter a server name.
- Enter the server address.
- Click Done.

Why is my friend not connecting to my server?
Before anyone says it, my firewall port forwarding settings are all correct! I have to make that as clear as posible because there are too many “know it all” replies who suggest the firewall port forwarding as the solution. I know what I am doing with those. Since a few updates ago my friend has problems connecting to my server.
Is there a server that no one can join?
Everything is right, but no one else but me can join the server. Before I get into anything else, I would like to state that the server is not running off my computer but a laptop that I had lying around. – Host needs to clear un used stuff ( because trust me, few players do it themselves ). – Host needs to keep look on what stuff other players spawn, and delete / kick if necessary. Most of these people who host random public servers with misspelled names do not meet any of these ”rules”.
