- Fix: Type in console: setstage DLC1VQ02 10.
- Fix 360: When Serana initiates the conversation about Castle Volkihar while still in the Crypt, finish it as normal and then DO NOT initiate any other conversation with her!
- Fix: Use a plate to go through the gate into the castle.
How do you get to Seranas house?
The point of destination lies just a little northwest of Northwatch Keep, which itself is located in the most northwest area of the map. Follow the marker to an abandoned boat by the Icewater Jetty, which ferries you and Serana to Castle Volkihar, home of the Vampires.
How do you get into Volkihar Undercroft?
To locate the ship, swim from the far end of the dockside to the northwest. There are numerous stairs rising up from the dockside to terraces far above. At the top is an entrance to Volkihar Undercroft, which prior to starting the related quest is the door that is locked.

Should I become a vampire or partially soul trapped?
The best thing is to NOT become a Vampire Lord at this point in time, if playing as a Dawnguard. You will still be able to talk to Serana and have her make you a vampire lord later in the game, so it’s best to wait until you have finished all the Dawnguard sidequests. So for now, you should opt to become Soul Trapped.

1. Get a plate (for you) 2. Give serena at least one lockpick 3. Get Serena between you and the gate 4. Do the plate glitch ‘through’ Serena Another would be to check all of Serena’s dialog options are greyed and you have heard her little monologue.
How to get Serena out of the gate?
1# Beat the hell out of Serena until she ‘dies’ (AKA:Falls unconscious because she is essential), she may be stuck in combat mode and need to be knocked out of it. 2# Apparently you can glitch through the gate using whirlwind sprint somehow (it doesn’t go into detail).
Why is the door to Castle Volkihar not open?
Ive never discovered until now. And the watchman opens the gate. Its the wooden door that won’t open.
