There are two somewhat reliable ways of getting rid of your regent.
- Kill them. If you are underage you will almost always get an event with a 50% chance of killing your regent. If they die pause the game and do whatever the council was stopping you from doing.
- Land your regent. Only possible if they are unlanded.
