Playing on a Local Area Network (LAN)
- Choose a host computer.
- Launch the game and click Single Player.
- Create a new world or open an existing one.
- Inside that world, press the Esc key, and click Open to LAN.
- Choose a game mode to set for the other players.
Can friends join my minecraft realm when im offline?
Can people play on my realm when im offline? Yes, Realms is based off the servers on Mojang’s side as far as I’m aware, rather than you being the server host and your friends having to connect to your live server.
Do Minecraft Realms run when no one is on?
Java-based Realms are built over Amazon EC2 and other services, they are completely virtual. When a player joins and the server does not exist it is brought out of storage and started. When the last player leaves the server it is hibernated again. So when there are no players, there is no server.

Console/bedrock edition would require a subscription to realms, which allows the world to be accessed regardless of the status of the main world holder. Bedrock edition has a dedicated server nowadays, it’s in the alpha stage but imo not less stable than the current game version of bedrock. Also you can download it for free.
