- Open the console, click on the NPC.
- type ‘openactorcontainer 1’ and put the cloth you want to equip from your inventory in there.
- type ‘showinventory’, there should be a list of items the npc has.
- type ‘removeitem [ITEM ID] 1, in this case: removeitem 001b1be 1.

I’d really recommend you avoid helmet toggle, especially if you have literally any other script mods. I’m to sure what’s wrong with it from a coding perspective, but the scrips are likely bloated as fuck, becuase it was causing me MASSIVE script lags. And sometimes it would indeed break altogether as described in bugs/comments on nexus.
