How do you get the boat in the witness?
Head to the town area past the Entry Area, and follow the water’s edge as you head around the mountain until you come to an empty dock. Solve the simple boat shaped-puzzle, and a boat will appear from the depths – complete with a rough map of the area.

What does a triangle mean in The Witness?
The Witness has many mysterious Collectibles that include strange Discarded Panels with yellow triangle markers scattered about the island. They all feature triangle icons – where the number of triangles in a square is related to how many times a line can touch the square.
What order should you do The Witness in?
To quickly tour every puzzle type, your itinerary should be: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 6. To complete the game, you should then proceed through 17, 10 and 14. 18 and 19 are optional.
What do the yellow squares mean in The Witness?
These hollow blue squares indicate the number of squares you must subtract from the yellow shapes when drawing the solution. For example, the first panel shows a 3-square yellow shape, and one hollow blue square. Subtract one square from the yellow shape to draw a final outline that sections off only two blocks.

Here, the key is looking at the water pools under the panels to see the reflection. You may need to expand the image above to see the paths, because the colors are dim. The key to this area is raising and lowering the water in the right places and keeping an eye on reflections while the water is moving. .
Where are the desert ruins in the witness?
Desert Ruins. The are located in the sandy beach area between the Quarry and Symmetry Island. Its central point is a crumbling white structure that features uniquely shaped puzzles resembling ship wheels, which are different from the typical grid-based puzzles you’ll find in most parts of The Witness.
Can you see the solution in the reflection of the water?
You can see the solution in the reflection of the water, but you can’t draw a path from this side of the puzzle because the rubble is blocking your way. But notice how the panel is made from translucent glass, while the other puzzles in this area are not.
