To get Siegward out you need to have first found the Old Cell Key in the Irithyll Dungeon, and then need to start at the Profaned Capital bonfire to find Siegward’s cell. When you go to fight Yhorm the Giant a cutscene will play where Siegward arrives in the arena and calls Yhorm out.

The doors don’t really matter. I did the Quest now 4 Times and i just killed the deacons, gone to the Tower behind Firelink (the one you need tower key), let patches trap me there and then forgive him. After that Siegward was always in the well.
