If you want to move faster make sure there is more distance between you and any planets or stars in the area. To get to a destination as fast as possible keep your throttle at 100% until you are 7 seconds away from your destination and then immediately throttle down to 75%.
Why does supercruise slow down?
As you get closer and closer to a planet, your maximum velocity reduces. The timer does not take that slowing into account, but rather assumes constant velocity to target. This means that as you approach a massive body, your speed will slow and the timer will reflect the new time to target with your reduced velocity.
What speed is supercruise?
The vehicle is traveling faster than 137 km/h (85 mph). The maximum Super Cruise speed in curves will vary based on how sharp the curve is.
Do thrusters effect supercruise?
Super-cruise is an Alcubierre drive (as I understand it), it’s not using any form of propellant but instead using mass difference to move that section of space in the direction of the mass difference. So no thrusters make no difference, the ship doesn’t move but the bubble of space it’s in moves.
Can you get fined for speeding in elite dangerous?
While no penalties will be incurred for speeding in itself, if you collide with another ship while speeding then fines or bounties will be incurred. Shields only collisions above speed limit cause a fine. Hull damage only above speed limit causes a larger fine.
Is Cadillac Super Cruise Level 3?
If it detects a driver falling asleep at the wheel or texting while driving, it will audibly warn them to take control. Since Super Cruise is only a Level 2 system, not Level 3, it can not think for itself by passing slower traffic or following a navigation route.
Can the F 22 Supercruise?
The F-22 Raptor is capable of supercruise at Mach 1.8 (but is seen here running afterburner).
Can the F 18 Super Cruise?
The Gripen was built around the 18k thrust and no supercruise – the F-18E was designed from the start around the 22k version. The f-18E with the 22k thrust version had a TW ratio of . 93 so no supercruise.
How do you go faster in supercruise?
Use Hyperspace when traveling to other systems. Maximum Supercruise speed is determined by the proximity to stellar bodies and the direction the ship is heading relative to the stellar body. Heading towards a stellar body will decrease maximum speed while heading away will increase maximum speed.
How do you go faster in Supercruise?
When does supercruise not work in Elite Dangerous?
Heading towards a stellar body will decrease maximum speed while heading away will increase maximum speed. Supercruise cannot be engaged if the ship is Mass Locked (i.e. too close to a large body of mass such as stations or planets) or if it has anything deployed (such as Landing Gear, Cargo Scoop, or Hardpoints).
Is there a limit to the supercruise speed?
When you are close to objects with a gravity field, supercruise is limited. I’ve read somewhere that the max supercruise speed is 2001c, meaning 2,001 times the speed of light. This is a tribute to the classic Stanley Kubrick/Arthur C. Clarke movie “2001 – A Space Oddysey”. I’m not sure it’s correct, though.
Is the frame of time the same in Elite Dangerous?
It should be noted that in Elite Dangerous, FTL travel is not subject to relativity; a ship’s frame of time is always the same as to the surrounding universe. Use the Supercruise button (default is J) – Supercruise will be engaged
Are there spherical impact surfaces in Elite Dangerous?
All planetary, stellar, and singular objects are surrounded by a spherical impact surface. Planetary rings are also surrounded by impact surfaces, but these surfaces are not spherical. Manage your approach speeds. Maintain a correct approach vector in relation to the station’s orbit. Align to the station’s airlock face before dropping out.
