Black Box is a specific item of Salvage in Elite Dangerous. It is sometimes dropped in Unidentified Signal Source locations and by destroyed ships. Is required by some Bulletin Board missions. Since version 1.4 they can be found also in weak signal source and salvageable wreckage.
