Minecraft Bedrock Edition players can edit their world settings under “Game” and uncheck the box next to “Mob Spawning.” Java Edition players can type “/gamerule doMobSpawning false” into the chat bar to disable mobs.
Why is my XP farm so slow?
Your farm may be slowed down by zombies not being transferred fast enough outside of the spawners bounding box. If thats the case it can affect the spawnrate negatively. The hostile mob cap does not affect spawners.

Do not underestimate the importance of lighting the caves! If there are many valid spawn places outside the farm, the mobs will spawn there and stay there for a long time eating the mob cap.
