With the ropecaster, tear is linked to the ropes shot. It deals no damage, but when the machine is freed from the rope, if enough tear is added, you will have armor pieces lying around everywhere. You just have to use your ropes precisely on tearable parts to see this effect.

The Ropecaster can be used to temporarily take enemies out of the fight so the player may focus on others, or immobilize a machine so that it is easier to target its weaknesses. It is most effective when used against larger machines, such as the Thunderjaw. Against humans, the Ropecaster is of very limited use.

What does handling mean horizon zero dawn?

It’s important to remember that Tear does very little actual damage — so it’s no good for knocking down health bars.
