Any player that has more than seven resource cards in their hand must return half of them (rounded down) to the resource stacks.
Can you show your hand in Catan?
You cannot show other players your cards. Yes. It seems like you could trivially state which cards are in your hand, how you acquired each one, what you did with whatever resource card the other player thinks you may have, etc.
How many cards are in a hand?
11 cards
Each player is dealt 11 cards. This first set of 11 cards is called a ‘Hand’. The ‘Hand’ can be picked up and examined by each player. Each player is then dealt a second set of 11 cards.

Yes. The quantity of cards you have in your hand is public information. But the identity of those cards is not. If another player asks, for example, how may resource cards do you have, right before he moves the robber, you must tell him truthfully the number of resource cards you have in your hand.
What are the rules of Catan Cities and Knights?
1 You may never hold more than four progress cards in your hand. 2 Progress cards may be played on the same turn they are drawn. 3 Progress cards may not be traded with other players, nor may the robber steal them. 4 When you play a progress card, place it face down under the appropriate progress card stack.
What to do with all the cards from Catan?
Use all of the remaining pieces from Catan. In Cities & Knights, these three card decks replace the development card deck from Catan. ou use the development flip-charts to track the city improvements that you purchase. Each page of the flip-chart shows the building costs of each piece.
How many people can play settlers of Catan?
Many people enjoy playing “the settlers of Catan” as a game for 3-4 players (and with the appropriate expansions for up to 6).
