According to the video, go to the top of the statue after you got the Axe. Talk to him and say you want to give it to him. While he’s in dialogue, use Slow Time and run backwards to the exit. Once outside, go to your house, and place the Axe on the weapon rack, then go back to the cave and the Masque should get added.
