If you buy a Uplay game on Steam that you already own on Uplay, you will now own the game on Steam as well. This means you can install the game from Steam. You can then launch the Steam specific version through the Steam launcher.

Can I transfer a game from Steam to uPlay?
As keys and contents are bound to the account and the platform on which they were activated, it is not possible to transfer any content (Game, DLC, ULC, Season Pass, etc.) from one platform to another. For example, Steam will not recognise your Xbox network DLC purchases.

Can you share games on Ubisoft PC?
We do not support game sharing through Uplay, so if your friend has access to this content, it is likely that the Season Pass was activated on their account and is now exclusively available there. Another Season Pass will need to be purchased to cover both of you.
What happens if you buy a game you already own?
If you buy a game that you have already own on Steam, the store will attempt to cancel your purchase by notifying you that you already have a copy of the game and if you wish, you can send it to one of your steam friends.
Do I have to buy Assassin’s Creed twice?

What happens if I buy a Ubisoft game on Steam?
Ubisoft games bought on Steam are unlocked on UPlay as well but the game files and DLC are downloaded/bought on Steam. Achivements are unlocked on UPlay, if you remove the game from Steam they will remain on UPlay but you wont be able to install the game.

Can you buy DLC on Steam through Uplay?
I couldn’t buy any DLC via UPlay, even though the game appears in UPlay it is still a Steam game. The achievements are on UPlay but the game files and DLC are through Steam. Than i have asked for a refund, the game disappeared from Steam but i still have the unlocked achievements on UPlay.
Can You Link Ubisoft games to Steam library?
You can add it to the Steam library so that you may launch it through Steam but I am unsure if you can then take advantage of Steam perks and such while playing, I think only Uplay benefits would apply.
