In most Dominion games, the optimal strategy is to buy Provinces as fast as possible. At the start of the game, the only treasure cards you have are Coppers, so the best you hand you can draw from your deck of 10 is a hand of five Coppers. That would give you five coins to spend, which isn’t enough to buy a Province.
What do you start with in Dominion?
Each player starts with 10 cards: 7 copper and 3 estates as a starting deck. The estates come from the remainder in the box. Each player shuffles their deck, draws five cards and the game can start.

Why is Chapel good dominion?

What does it mean to gain a card in Dominion?
Gaining a card means taking a card from somewhere (usually the Supply) and placing it on your discard pile, unless instructed to place it somewhere else (for example, the Mine tells you to Gain a card and place it in your hand ). The result of buying a card is gaining it.
