Overview. The main use for Flashlights is to temporarily blind the Killer. Blinding the Killer while they are carrying a Survivor will stun them for a few seconds and release the carried Survivor from their shoulder back to the Injured State. The Flashlight Beam reaches 10 metres by default.
Why do flashlights not work in dead by daylight?
Even though the killer can’t see you, they can still attack. In most cases, simply blinding them is useless. If a killer is carrying a survivor, they will drop them. Therefore, using a flashlight to save other players makes more sense than trying to scare the killer away while they’re chasing you.
How do you aim a flashlight in DBD?
