If the land has entered the battlefield on the same turn it becomes the creature, it can’t attack. If it had entered in some previous turn, it can attack normally. The Summoning Sickness rule cares about when that permanent entered the battlefield (even if it wasn’t a creature back then), not when it became a creature.
Can you play a land during combat?
Normally, you can play a land during either your pre- or post-combat main phase, so long as the stack is empty and you have priority, and you have not played a land that turn. You can cast spells before playing your land for the turn, or after. Similarly, you can attack before playing your land, or after.
