Does Terraria Steam work on Linux?
Terraria has native versions for Windows, Linux and Mac, so yes, it does work on Linux already. On the Steam page you linked, Linux requirements are listed under the SteamOS+Linux tab (mind that “Ubuntu” doesn’t mean the game won’t work on other distros).
