Where do I find my housecarl?

Once you have purchased the home in Windhelm, Hjerim, and attained the rank of Thane of Windhelm, Calder is appointed as your housecarl and will automatically appear in Hjerim.

Will my housecarl Respawn?

No they are gone for good but for a fee you can hire a follower that will follow you for a set amount of time. These followers are found on the roads of Skyrim, and usually in taverns such as the drunken huntsman up in Whiterun’s middle district.

Can you dismiss a housecarl?

The only option to replace a steward is to kill them or disabling them, then bring another follower to your house and ask them to be a steward. The is a mod called Dismiss Steward Mod which allows the option to dismiss your steward and get another follower in your house to become a steward.

What happens when your housecarl dies?

Housecarls can only die if you hit them when they are down. Once they take a knee, enemies will not attack them any longer. So, basically they die only if you kill them. So if you flee while your follower is downed, the enemy will turn on them I think.

How do I get my housecarl to stay at my house?

As sessmaru says, housecarls stay with each house unless you make them steward of the other house. If you become Thane of Falkreath you will get a housecarl (Reya) for Lakeview Manor (the house you have just bought) who can also be steward if you like.

Can you bring Lydia back to life?

When seriously injured, Lydia will drop to one knee until she recovers. Enemies can’t kill her during this time, but she will die if struck by your weapon or spell. In the Xbox 360 version of the game, you can only revive Lydia by casting a master-level conjuration spell called Dead Thrall.

Open the console and click on her body. A code will appear. Simply type “resurrect” into the console, press enter, and close the console. She will be resurrected.
