Tanaris, or the Tanaris Desert, (pronounced Tuh-NAYR-ihs or Tuh-NUHR-ihs) is a desert located in Southern Kalimdor, east of Un’Goro Crater and south of Thousand Needles. It is an arid land, covered in sand dunes and frequently exposed to dangerous sandstorms.
How do I get to Tanaris?
Past level 80, the quickest way to is take the portal from Stormwind to Uldum and simply fly to Tanaris. Otherwise, take the Tram to Ironforge then fly (or walk) to Menethil harbor. From there, take the boat to Theramore and swim through Thousand Needles (south of Dustwallow Marsh) and right into Tanaris.
Is there a portal to Tanaris?

Don’t be fooled by the level range listed. Tanaris is an appropriate leveling zone for players 43+ unless you happen to be playing a great soloing class like a Warlock or Hunter.
