But on the way home, since your Nether portal is 100 blocks off, the game might be looking for an Overworld portal 800 blocks away from your base. That’s too far, so it spawns a new one at (x+800, z) or whatever. The solution is to destroy the portal on the Nether side, and rebuild it at exactly (x/8, z/8).
